
A big decision has been taken by the state government regarding population control in Manipur. The Manipur cabinet has decided to bring an ordinance, under which the family will be excluded from government schemes if more than 4 children are born. On Thursday, state CM N. Biren Singh gave this information to the Secretariat. The cabinet has also approved the constitution of the Manipur State Population Commission. Now this constitution will be implemented through an ordinance. After the cabinet meeting, Health and Information Minister Dr. Sapam Ranjan Singh said that the issue of the inner line permit has also been discussed in the cabinet. Apart from this, the issue of fake Aadhar cards has also been discussed.
He said that considering the situation regarding Inner Line Permit, serious consideration has been given. Apart from this, it has been decided that this issue should be monitored and necessary steps should be taken. Manipur Minister said that to strengthen the Inner Line Permit system, it has been decided that all the people coming to the state will have to indicate their place of stay. Apart from this, the mobile number will also have to be entered, which is linked with the Aadhar card. Earlier, the Inner Line Permit Pass was issued by the Deputy Labor Commissioner. Now, this pass will be issued by the Deputy Commissioner only.
The minister said that the IT department of the state government is preparing software, through which the entry and exit of people coming to Manipur will be monitored. Inner Line Permit will be introduced in Manipur from January 1, 2020. Arunachal Pradesh is the fourth state in the country after Nagaland and Mizoram to implement the Inner Line Permit system. People from other provinces of the country and foreign nationals have to take permission for entry into the states coming under these arrangements. This decision has been taken in these states to maintain the balance of the indigenous population and to provide opportunities to them.
