Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday greeted everyone on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. In a post on the social media platform 'X', Prime Minister Modi wished everyone well-being and prosperity on this auspicious occasion. PM Modi wrote, 'Wishing you all a very Happy Ganesh Chaturthi. May this auspicious occasion, filled with devotion and faith, be auspicious for all. I pray to Lord Gajanan to bless all his devotees with happiness, peace, and good health. Ganpati Bappa Morya!'

Vinayak Chaturthi is also known as Vinayak Chavithi. It is a festival that symbolizes new beginnings. It marks the worship of Lord Ganesha, the destroyer of obstacles, who is worshiped before auspicious work. Devotees in the country and abroad celebrate his wisdom and intelligence with decorated homes and pandals, prayers, music, and vibrant processions.

Earlier, a huge crowd of devotees gathered at the Shree Siddhivinayak Ganpati Temple in Mumbai to offer prayers on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. For this festival, people bring idols of Lord Ganesha to their homes. They observe fasts and prepare delicious dishes. Pandals are decorated during this festival. In this festival celebrated across the country, lakhs of devotees gather in temples and mandals to seek the blessings of Lord Ganesha.

The first look of Mumbai's famous Lalbaugcha Raja was released on Sunday. Lalbaugcha Raja, created with unmatched artistry, is not just an idol; it is much more than that. It is a symbol of collective faith, artistic mastery, and the vibrant spirit of Mumbai. Every year, lakhs of devotees come here for darshan. Lalbaugcha Raja, the unveiling of the iconic Ganesh idol, is another main attraction of this festival. The history of Lalbaugcha Raja is quite famous. It is the popular Ganesh idol of Lalbaugcha Raja Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal, located in Putlabai Chawl, a place of worship established in 1934. The idol of Lalbaugcha Raja Ganpati has been taken care of by the Kambli family for more than eight decades.

Earlier in July, the Maharashtra government had declared the public Ganeshotsav as 'Maharashtra State Festival'. This announcement was made by Cultural Affairs Minister Ashish Shelar in the Assembly. He said that the tradition of public Ganeshotsav in Maharashtra was started by Lokmanya Tilak in 1893.
