Shimla, Feb 22 (IANS) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh Sunday launched the second phase of pulse polio immunisation drive in the state by administering polio drops to a child at Jwalamukhi in Kangra district.
Briefing the chief minister, Chief Medical Officer B.M. Gupta said 1,070 polio booths have been set up in the district wherein 134,402 children would be administered polio drops.
A government spokesperson told IANS that a total of 683,536 children in the age group of 0-5 years would be covered under the drive for which 5,868 booths have been set up across the state.
