Geneva. Dr. Mike Ryan, head of the World Health Organization (WHO) emergency program, said hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine should only be used for clinical trials. Both these drugs are being used to treat many diseases. They have also proved effective in the treatment of corona, but given the side effects, it should be used only for clinical trials.

 

 

Dr. Ryan said that many countries have limited the use of these drugs. It is being used only in hospitals built for the corona under the supervision of medical experts. However, it is the duty of every country's authority to assess whether or not to use these drugs.

 

Spreading infection in low-income countries is a matter of concern: WHO

WHO director general Tedros Gabrias said that corona cases in the world are still growing rapidly. There is a long way to go to deal with these situations. He expressed concern over its spread especially in low and middle income countries. Gabriesses said on Wednesday that 1 lakh 6 thousand new cases have been reported in the last 24 hours. This is the highest number of cases reported in a single day in the world.
