Due to Pakistan's poor performance in the T20 World Cup 2024, the team is being criticized a lot. Former Pak team director Mohammad Hafeez targeted Azam Khan while questioning the fitness of the team. Hafeez said that if Azam Khan wants to play cricket for Pakistan, he will have to do two things.

Azam Khan has also been given a place in the Pakistan team announced for the T20 World Cup. Azam Khan was out for zero against the USA. Azam Khan was dropped from the team against India. After this, a video of him eating street food in New York went viral. After this, former Pakistani captain and team director Mohammad Hafeez commented on Azam's fitness. While talking to a Pakistani sports channel, many big revelations were made.

Weight did not reduce even with fitness training

"Hafiz said, Azam Khan was sent for training for 6 weeks. When he returned from there, his body and fitness remained the same as before. Azam's running ability was much less than usual. If other players of the team take 10 minutes to run 2 km, then Azam Khan takes 20 minutes. When I asked him about this, he said that I did my best."

Hafiz's advice to Azam Khan

"Hafiz further said, that if Azam Khan wants to play cricket for Pakistan, then he will have to do two things. First, he will have to be physically fit, which is required for international cricket. Second, perform whenever you get a chance and I also want Azam Khan to work on his wicketkeeping ability. However, due to his current fitness, Khan cannot field."
