IMD Alert: Heavy rain alert in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, UP, Gujarat, know the latest weather conditions

Heavy rains are continuing in many states of the country. The Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an alert of heavy rainfall in some areas of Madhya Pradesh, UP, Rajasthan, and Gujarat on Monday.

 

 

According to the Meteorological Department, the pressure area formed in North-East Madhya Pradesh is moving in the western and north-west areas. It is centered around Damoh in the state. Due to this effect, heavy to very heavy rains may occur in some places in West Madhya Pradesh and East Rajasthan. Along with this, heavy rain may occur in a few places over Madhya Maharashtra. Similarly, East Madhya Pradesh, South Uttar Pradesh, West Rajasthan, and North Gujarat may also receive heavy rainfall today. According to the Meteorological Department, there may be a situation of flood in some areas of the said states. According to the Meteorological Department, Delhi may also receive heavy rains in the next few days.

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rain in many districts of Madhya Pradesh. These districts are- Bhopal, Gwalior, Ujjain, Sagar Damoh, Narsinghpur, and Jabalpur. At the same time, an orange alert has been issued for Rewa, Narmadapuram, Anuppur, Shahdol, Umaria, Dindori, Katni, Chhindwara, Seoni, Mandla, Balaghat, Khandwa, and Dewas.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of wind speed reaching 30-40 to 50 kmph in Northeast Madhya Pradesh and UP. These can cause damage to kutcha houses. At the same time, in some areas, floods can cause damage to roads and ponds. Road and air traffic may also be disrupted due to heavy rains.

 

Deep pressure weakened in UP, but heavy rain continues: Meteorological Department

The Meteorological Department has said that the deep pressure area over Southwest Uttar Pradesh has weakened. It will move west and northwest direction and weaken into a low-pressure area within 24 hours. According to the department, very heavy rain may also occur in some of these parts on August 22. Strong winds are possible in the next 12 to 24 hours. Wind speed reached 30 to 40 kmph over South Uttar Pradesh and North Chhattisgarh and 25 to 35 kmph over East Rajasthan.

 

The embankment broke due to the rise of the Ganges

 

The Ganga is in spate due to the rain that has been pouring in for the last three days. Due to this, the embankment got damaged near Sirjepur village in the Khadar area. In Bijnor, a flood-like situation has arisen due to the arrival of Ganga water in the forest of Salempur, Dholanpur, Fejipur, and Mahmuda Khadar village in the Ganga Khadar area. Due to the rise in water level, about two feet of water is flowing on the Jalilpur Salempur road, and the traffic on this route has come to a complete halt. Other administrative officials including the CO reached the spot and took stock of the situation. Nanwa Singh, Dinesh Kumar, and Sanjeev Kumar have demanded a permanent solution to deal with the flood-like situation. Water is flowing on the path between Brahmapuri and Ravali.

 

Private Weather Agency Forecast

 

According to private weather agency Skymet, in the next 24 hours, moderate to heavy rain and very heavy rain may occur in western parts of Madhya Pradesh and East Rajasthan.

 

Light to moderate rain is very likely at some places over the remaining parts of Madhya Pradesh.

 

Light to moderate rain at one or two places very likely over Coastal Karnataka, Konkan & Goa, parts of Maharashtra, and one or two places over Himachal Pradesh & Uttarakhand.

 

Light to moderate rain is possible over West Bengal, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, parts of Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Delhi.
