Maharashtra's Agriculture Minister Abdul Sattar held a closed-door meeting with Congress veteran Ashok Chavan in Nanded on Sunday, after which the state's politics heated up. Since then there has been a lot of speculation. It is being interpreted in many political circles. It is being told that soon after attending the review meeting, Minister Abdul Sattar went to meet Ashok Chavan at his residence. They talked for about half an hour in a room where no party worker was allowed.

Came to take guidance from Chavan: Abdul Sattar

Talking to the media, Sattar said that Chavan and his late father, former Union Minister Shankarrao Chavan had guided him in his political journey. Sattar said it was because of him (Chavan) that he could achieve the present heights in politics. Chavan has good knowledge and understanding of Marathwada and the entire Maharashtra. He is also well aware of the issues of farmers. Apart from seeking his blessings, I will seek his guidance to handle my portfolio as Agriculture Minister.

It was only a courtesy call from Sattar: Ashok Chavan

Chavan also responded to speculations about the meeting, saying it was only a courtesy call by Sattar and there was nothing wrong in the meeting between the leaders of the two parties. Recently, there were reports of Chavan being upset with his party leadership, which had issued him a show cause notice as he was absent during the trust vote against the newly formed Eknath Shinde government.

A meeting was held about the damage caused by rain in Maharashtra

During a review meeting with the district administration, Sattar asked the officials to complete the panchnama of rain damage incidents in the next five days. He said that the Panchnama process for damages ended in July. However, some areas have also received heavy rains since July and this needs to be accounted for. He said that the state government is engaged in preparing relief plans for the affected.
