IND vs NED: India defeated Netherlands in their second match of the T20 World Cup to register their second consecutive win in the tournament. India beat the Netherlands by 56 runs in a one-sided match. Electing to bat after winning the toss, the Indian team scored 179 runs for 2 wickets in 20 overs, thanks to half-centuries from Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and then Suryakumar. In response, the Netherlands team did not look aggressive even once while chasing the target and the Indian bowlers took advantage of this and put pressure on them from the beginning, as a result of which the Netherlands team lost only 9 wickets in 20 overs. Could score only 123 runs. In the first match, India defeated Pakistan by 4 wickets.

Chasing the target of 180 runs by India, the Netherlands team looked under pressure from the first over itself. Bhuvneshwar Kumar maiden both his overs in the powerplay and also took a wicket. Vikramjit was dismissed after scoring one run in 9 balls. Max returned to the pavilion after scoring 16 runs in 10 balls. The Netherlands lost wickets at regular intervals, due to which the team could not reach India's target. For India, Bhuvneshwar, Arshdeep, Axar Patel, and Ashwin got two wickets each. With this win, India has moved up to the top of Group II with 4 points and a net run rate of +1.425, which is second only to South Africa in the group.

Earlier, India set a target of 180 against the Netherlands, thanks to fifties from Virat Kohli (62 not out), captain Rohit Sharma (53), and Suryakumar Yadav (51 not out). India made a slow start in the Group 2 match by winning the toss and batting. Opener Lokesh Rahul got out leg before on the score of nine runs. Rohit also struggled for some time but in the eighth over, he opened his hands by hitting Logan van Beek for a six.

Rohit and Kohli shared a 73-run partnership for the second wicket. Before being dismissed, Rohit scored 53 runs in 39 balls with four fours and three sixes. After his wicket fell, Kohli shared an explosive 95-run partnership with Suryakumar to take India to 179/5 in 20 overs.

Kohli scored 62 runs in 44 balls with three fours and two sixes, his second consecutive fifty in the tournament, while Suryakumar played an explosive inning of 51 runs off 25 balls with seven fours and a six.
