The Indian cricket team created history in the second match of the Test series against the West Indies. Coming out to bat in the second innings on the fourth day of the match, India scored runs in a very aggressive manner. Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan hit stormy half-centuries and Team India declared the innings by scoring 181 runs in just 24 overs. India's run rate in this innings was 7.54. This is the highest run rate in Test cricket in an innings of 20 overs or longer.

At present, the England team's baseball style is very much discussed for aggressive batting in Test cricket. In such a situation, the Indian team has made a world record by showing a more aggressive game than England and it is being considered as the first glimpse of 'Drawball'. The special thing is that Team India has made this record under the coach of Rahul Dravid, who was famous for his slow batting in Test cricket at his time.

India made a world record
India broke Australia's record in this match. The Kangaroo team scored 241/2 in just 32 overs against Pakistan in Sydney in 2017. The Australian team scored these runs at a run rate of 7.53. At the same time, India's run rate was 7.54. In this innings, Team India also became the fastest team to score 100 runs in Test cricket and also completed their fastest 50 runs. The Indian team scored 50 runs in their second innings without losing wickets in 5.3 overs. This is the fastest fifty of the Indian team in Tests. Captain Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal opened the innings for India and shared a 98-run partnership in just 71 balls i.e. 11.5 overs. After Rohit's dismissal, India crossed the 100-run mark in just 12.2 overs i.e. 74 balls.

Sri Lanka's record was also broken
India left behind Sri Lanka's 22-year-old record. The Sri Lankan team reached the 100-run mark in 80 balls in just 13.2 overs against Bangladesh during the 2001 Asian Test Championship. Mumbai Indians star Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma were the most aggressive in this innings of India. Rohit Sharma scored the fastest fifty of his Test career. Batting in his T20 avatar, Rohit brought up his half-century in just 35 balls.

Amazing of Ishaan Kishan
Ishaan Kishan also hit his half-century in just 33 balls. He became the second fastest wicket-keeper to score a fifty in Tests for India. In this case, Rishabh Pant is on top, he scored a half-century in just 28 balls. When India's innings were declared, Kishan was unbeaten on 52 off 34 balls, which included four fours and two sixes. His runs came at a strike rate of 152.94.

Kishan's strike rate of 152.94 is the fourth-highest strike rate by an Indian player in a Test innings (minimum 50 runs). The record for playing an innings of more than 50 runs with the fastest strike rate in Tests is in the name of legendary all-rounder Kapil Dev, who scored 89 runs in just 55 balls against England at Lord's in 1982.

Ishaan Kishan is third in terms of scoring more than 50 runs at the best strike rate in Tests. The list is topped by Australia's Adam Gilchrist, who scored 102* off 59 balls against England at Perth in 2006/07. His strike rate was 172.88. At the same time, the name of Rishabh Pant is number two, who scored 50 runs in 31 balls at a strike rate of 161.29 against Sri Lanka in Bengaluru in 2022.
