During the Russo-Ukraine war, the Government of India launched Operation Ganga to evacuate 20 thousand Indians, under which more than 18 thousand Indians have returned home so far. The officers who reached the border of Ukraine also helped Pakistani, Bangladeshi, and students from other countries to get out of the war zone. One of them was Asma Shafiq of Pakistan.

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has thanked PM Modi for rescuing 9 Bangladeshi citizens from Ukraine under 'Operation Ganga'. Apart from Indians, students from Nepal and Tunisia have also been rescued during the operation.

Asma said she was in trouble

Asma has thanked the Indian Embassy in Kyiv and Prime Minister Modi. A video of Asma has surfaced, in which she is thanking her for getting her out of war-torn Ukraine. In the video, Asma is seen saying that she has been rescued by Indian authorities and is on her way to western Ukraine. Will be meeting her family soon.

Not only Pakistan but also the people of Turkey and Bangladesh had made the tricolor their shield in leaving Ukraine.

Students trapped in Sumi were also evacuated

Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi tweeted a day ago saying that it is happy to inform you that all 694 Indian students have been successful in getting out of Sumi. They are all on their way to Poltava, from where they will leave by train for Western Ukraine.
