Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) has handed over all the confidential information related to the technology of the Akash weapon system to the Missile Systems Quality Assurance Agency (MSQAA). Soon the agency will conduct the necessary tests for the version of the weapon system for the Army. This process is essential for the development and production of indigenous weapons.
DRDO handed over the information to MSQAA
The Ministry of Defense has informed that the authorized officials from DRDO handed over this information in sealed packets to the MSQAA in a ceremony held in Hyderabad. The packets handed over contain all the information related to the weapon system, its model, its test reports, etc.
Defense Minister congratulated
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has congratulated DRDO, the Indian Army, and the industrial world on this occasion. Said that with this we have come closer to producing the state-of-the-art Akash weapon system and inducting it into the army. He expressed confidence that this weapon system would meet the needs of the forces for a long time.
What is the sky?
Akash is an indigenously developed surface-to-air missile system. This system will be used by the Army and the Air Force. For this, a purchase order worth Rs 30,000 crore is expected to be placed. This will be the largest purchase of any indigenously manufactured weapon by the Indian forces.
