Prime Minister Narendra Modi is leaving for a three-day visit to the US on Wednesday where he will meet US President Joe Biden as well as attend the Quad summit with Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison and Japanese PM Yoshihide Suga on Friday. In the last leg of the tour, he will address the United Nations, General Assembly.

The Modi government on Tuesday said that these meetings have nothing to do with the recently announced Australia-UK-US ie Ocus Defense Agreement.

For the first time, any comment has come from the Modi government on the Ocas defense agreement with which China and France are very angry. It is understood from this comment of India that it has kept itself away from this new partnership.

India's Foreign Secretary Harsh Shringla said that in the Quad summit, there will be talks on epidemics, new technology, climate change, infrastructure, maritime security, education, humanitarian aid, disaster relief, while AUCUS is a defense partnership.

The English newspaper The Hindu has given a prominent place to this news. According to the newspaper report, Shringla said, "We are not a party in the Ocus. In our point of view, it is neither relevant to Quad nor will it affect us.

Meet Kamala Harris

Prime Minister Modi is leaving for America today and will be there till September 25. In this tour, he will also meet Indian-American Vice President Kamala Harris. This will be the first time the two leaders will meet face-to-face.

Apart from this, the Prime Minister will meet a group of businessmen and CEOs of America. PM Modi will also have bilateral talks with the Prime Ministers of Japan and Australia. On September 25, PM Modi will meet President Biden and both the heads of state will attend the Quad summit.

The Quad is a grouping of America, Japan, Australia, and India. Apart from this, PM Modi will also address the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Shringla said, "The Prime Minister's bilateral talks will be about the latest situation arising in Afghanistan and regional security. India has been a partner of choice for the people of Afghanistan. In this context, we will also talk about extremism and cross-border terrorism. Apart from this, the issue of reform of the United Nations Security Council will also be raised.

According to the newspaper report, Prime Minister Modi will talk to President Biden on trade, investment, defense partnership, and climate change in bilateral talks. Shringla said that there will also be talks between the two heads of state on the implementation of defense agreements.

According to the newspaper, Shringla said that there will be no effect of Ocus on Quad. He said that it is not proper to combine the two. Shringla said that the Ocus Defense Agreement does not mean that the Quad will work only on light subjects.

Shringla said, "There is no connection between Ocus and Quad. The Ocus is a defense alliance and the Quad is a separate group working from a different perspective. Quod is working towards the goals of free movement, transparency, and inclusiveness in the Indo-Pacific. Australia has also said that the Ocus partnership is only about nuclear power technology.

India angry with UK's new travel rule

According to Times of India news, India has said that it is a discriminatory policy not to recognize the Covishield vaccine from Britain. India has warned to take steps against this stand of Britain.

India's Foreign Secretary Harsh Shringla said that if Britain does not amend this new travel rule, then India will also retaliate.

Shringla said that India's Foreign Minister S Jaishankar has also raised this issue with Britain. The newspaper has written in its report that Britain has adopted this stance regarding India when the relations between the two countries have warmed and both the countries are moving towards making a trade agreement. This new travel rule of Britain is disturbing for Indians.

Shringla said, "The license for the Covishield vaccine has been received from a UK company. It is produced in India. At the request of the UK government, 50 lakh doses of Covishield have been sent to Britain from here. In such a situation, it is completely irrational not to recognize the Covishield vaccine.

According to Britain's new travel rule, Indians who have had the Serum Institute of India's Covishield vaccine will be treated like those who have not been vaccinated. Therefore, it will be mandatory for Indians to quarantine for 10 days in Britain.
