India-Mongolia joint army exercise ends

New Delhi, Feb 6 (IANS) The joint exercise between Indian and Mongolian armies with focused on counter insurgency and anti-terror operations Friday ended at Gwalior Military Cantonment, an official said.

Indian Army's Brig. S.C. Panwar said the drill has enhanced mutual interoperability for counter terrorism and insurgency assignments under the United Nations mandate.

Brig. Gen. Enkhbaatar of Mongolian Army said understanding of each other's method of carrying out operational assignments and logistics tasks was an important takeaway of the joint exercise.

The exercise commenced Jan 23.
