Mumbai bought South African right-arm fast bowler Gerald Coetzee and Sri Lankan left-arm fast bowler Dilshan Madushanka.
Mumbai spent Rs 5 crore for Coetzee. Whereas Madushanka was bought for Rs 4.6 crore. Madushanka took 21 wickets in nine matches in the World Cup. The team spent Rs 4.80 crore to buy Sri Lankan fast bowler Nuwan Thushara. His action is similar to that of the franchise's bowling coach Lasith Malinga.

Mumbai bought experienced Afghanistan all-rounder Mohammad Nabi for his base price of Rs 1.50 crore. The franchise also bid on right-arm spinner Shreyas Gopal. He bought Gopal for the base price of Rs 20 lakh. The franchise bought three all-rounders Shivalik Sharma, Anshul Kamboj, and Naman Dheer for their base price of Rs 20 lakh.
