Indian team's former explosive opener Virender Sehwag has vented out his anger on Punjab Kings all-rounder Sam Curran. Sehwag said that Sam Curran has performed poorly in all departments in the current season and he does not deserve a place in the team.

25-year-old Sam Curran was bought by Punjab Kings for Rs 18.5 crore before IPL 2023. He was retained by Punjab this season. The English all-rounder's performance in the current season has been ordinary. He took 11 wickets in eight matches of IPL 2024 and scored only 152 runs.

Let us tell you that Shikhar Dhawan has been away from cricket action for some time due to injury. In the absence of Dhawan, the franchise handed over the captaincy to Sam Curran. Punjab has not won a single match so far under the captaincy of Sam Curran. Punjab suffered a 3-wicket defeat at the hands of Gujarat Titans on Sunday at their home ground.

condition of Punjab

The performance of Punjab Kings in the current IPL has not been good so far. Punjab Kings have registered only two wins in 8 matches in the current season. With six defeats, the Punjab team is in 9th place in the points table. It seems very difficult for Punjab Kings to reach the playoffs. It will have to win its remaining matches to have a chance of reaching the playoffs.
