An encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in Kulgam, Jammu, and Kashmir. During this, the presence of two to three terrorists came to the fore. An army jawan was injured in the shelling. He was given first aid.

After receiving information about the terrorists, a siege and search operation was started at Briihard Kathpora in Kulgam district. Seeing the cordon tightening, the terrorists opened fire on the joint team of security forces. After this, the security forces also retaliated.

During this, an army jawan was injured due to bullet injuries. Police officials said that the search is on for the terrorists. The joint team is running an operation in the entire area so that the terrorists can be caught.

Terrorist hideout destroyed in Doda, weapons, and explosives recovered

Earlier, security forces on Friday destroyed a terrorist hideout and recovered arms and explosives in the Gandoh area of the Doda district. The recovered weapons include one Under Barrel Grenade Launcher (UBGL), one UBGL grenade, one RPG shell, 25 electronic detonators, and two UBGLs. The police have registered a case.

According to the police, on Friday, the army and the police team were conducting a joint search operation in the forests of Gandoh. During this, they found an old hideout of terrorists in the Khasodi Chansar forest. It was built underground. The security forces have recovered rusted weapons and explosive material from there.

It is noteworthy that the area from where arms and explosives have been recovered has been heavily terror-affected in the past. The forest here is also very dense. The police believe that when militancy was at its peak in the Doda district, the weapons must have been hidden here. At present, the police are investigating the matter by registering a case.
