The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has alleged that ever since Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has come to meet the agitating farmers on the Singhu border, he has been under house arrest by the Delhi Police. The Chief Minister went to meet the farmers on Monday. However, the Delhi Police today refuted these allegations of 'AAP' in a tweet as 'evidence' and said that the Chief Minister had gone out last evening too and there was no restriction on his arrival at his residence.
AAP spokesperson Saurabh Bhardwaj said at the press conference, "On the instructions of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Delhi Police has put the Chief Minister under house arrest. No one is being allowed to leave the house nor anyone from outside Is being allowed to go into the house. Our MLAs have been beaten up. The police have done a lot of barricading outside the house. Even the people working in the house are not being allowed inside. Saurabh Bhardwaj said that We will march towards all CM houses and ensure that the Chief Minister is released.
The AAP alleged on Twitter that the three mayors of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi have been put on a dharna outside the main gate of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's house and the police have barricaded them outside the Chief Minister's house, using this as an excuse. Due to this, no one can come to meet Kejriwal, and neither can he go out anywhere. The party alleges that due to the Bharat Bandh today, Delhi Police has done this on the instructions of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
On the claim of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal being kept under house arrest during Bharat Bandh, Delhi Police Special Commissioner Satish Golcha came out and said that it is being claimed that there is a ban on the Chief Minister's visit. These things are baseless. There are adequate security arrangements in the area to maintain peace and prevent untoward incidents. The Delhi Police will only intervene in case of a possible breach of peace, no attempt will be made to stop any leader or person.
DCP calls the charge baseless
AAP's allegations of arresting Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal have been termed as baseless. The district's DCP Anto Alphons said that Arvind Kejriwal had left somewhere on Monday evening and returned at around 10 pm, so such allegations are false. He said that police forces have been deployed outside the Chief Minister's residence to prevent a confrontation between 'AAP' and BJP workers and there is no restriction on the Chief Minister's arrival or meeting anyone. The deployment seen outside CM Kejriwal's residence is a regular deployment for the CM's security. We are coordinating with CM Housing. We will allow anyone who wants to come in.
Let us tell you that CM Arvind Kejriwal reached the village on Monday to protest against the agricultural laws among the farmers who were staging a sit-in. Kejriwal told the farmers that I did not come here as the Chief Minister, but came to serve the farmers as a serviceman. Bharat Bandh is supported by them. The country's farmer is in trouble.
Kejriwal went to the Tegh Bahadur memorial on the Singhu border and interacted with the farmers. Also reviewed the system. They also asked the farmers if they had any problems. Kejriwal directed a quick diagnosis when there was a problem with water.
