Trains from Maharashtra, Odisha to Bihar were stopped since morning. At the same time, after 11 pm, farmers in Delhi NCR also started a flywheel jam. More than 18 opposition parties, including the Congress, NCP, SP, and AAP, have supported the farmers against the government. Here, the Aam Aadmi Party alleged that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been placed under house arrest, while the Delhi Police denied the charge.

AAP spokesperson Saurabh Bhardwaj claimed in a press conference that Delhi Police had put Kejriwal under house arrest. Rejecting all these claims, a senior Delhi Police official said, "This is not true." The Chief Minister can come and go anywhere. We have deployed our security personnel outside their residence. Petrol dealers in the state also shut down petrol pumps in support of the shutdown. The state has more than 3,400 refueling pumps. In the neighboring state of Haryana, the opposition Congress and the Indian National Lok Dal supported the Bharat Bandh. In both the states, the farmers started gathering on the highways and other important routes in the morning. A farmer in Mohali said, "We will demonstrate peacefully. In Ludhiana, protesters sat on the streets.

There is a mixed effect of the Bharat Bandh in Uttar Pradesh. In support of the farmers' Bharat bandh, opposition party workers have descended on the road from place to place. SP workers stopped the Bundelkhand Express train at the outstation of the railway station at Prayagraj. Similarly, the train going from Gwalior to Maduvadih was also stopped midway. There were clashes between protesters and police in Agra, after which police lathi-charged.

In Bihar, the entire opposition came out in support in support of the Bharat Bandh called against the agricultural law at the call of the farmers' organizations. Various organizations including RJD, Congress, and Left parties announced to play a leading role in supporting Bharat Bandh. Meanwhile, bandh supporters stopped trains in various districts of Bihar. Congress leaders, activists, and police clashed during a protest in the Araria district. On the other hand, tires have been blocked on various roads in the district. In Muzaffarpur, bandh supporters staged a fiery protest and blocked traffic on the road.

 

Trains stopped in Bengal

 

Congress and Left parties blocked rail tracks and staged sit-ins at several places in Bengal in support of Bharat Bandh. The impact of the Bharat Bandh was seen in the state, where private vehicles were off the roads and public vehicles like buses, taxis were operating less than normal. In Kolkata, CPI-M activists and members of SFI and DYFI jammed Lake Town, College Street, Jadavpur, and Shyambazar Five Point Crossing. Congress supporters blocked roads in Madhyamgram Chaumatha in North 24 Parganas district, Panskura in Paschim Medinipur, Bali in Howrah district, Baharampur in Murshidabad and Kharagpur, where police were seen asking them not to disrupt the movement of vehicles. They also blocked railway tracks at Jadavpur and Madhyamgram in Sealdah section of Eastern Railway and Rishra and Bardhaman in Howrah section.

Cab-taxi drivers are involved in this Bharat Bandh. However, many cabs have also been seen on the road.

Mandi committees are closed, fruit and vegetable supplies have also been affected.

Which parties have got support

More than 18 opposition parties, including Congress, NCP, Left parties, Shiv Sena, SP, Akali Dal, RJD have supported the Bharat Bandh. Apart from them, 10 Central Trade Union has given moral support. Besides, railway unions bank unions, several traders' associations, mandi committees in Delhi-NCR, some organizations of lawyers, Khap panchayats have given their support.

-Sindhu Border, Ghazipur, Tikri, Jharoda, Lampur, Auchandi, Chilla Border and Piyau Maniyari, Roads coming from Safiabad closed, farmers gathering

Traffic will be diverted to DND-Kalindi Kunj if required.

 

Security link for Bharat Bandh
