The Delhi government has provided significant relief to the general public by increasing the availability of 5-kilogram LPG cylinders. These small cylinders can now be easily obtained simply by presenting an identity card; no address verification will be required. This initiative will benefit migrant laborers, tenants, and small families. Conversely, the direct sale of cylinders from warehouses within Delhi will be considered completely illegal.
The government has enhanced the availability of 5-kilogram LPG cylinders across the entire city. This measure will ensure that cooking gas reaches even those individuals who were previously outside the formal distribution system. It will provide immense convenience, particularly to migrant laborers and temporary residents who previously faced difficulties in obtaining a gas connection.
Information Available via Help Desks
To assist migrant workers, 11 help desks have been established at select HPCL outlets. At these desks, individuals are being provided with comprehensive information regarding the nearest gas agencies and the procedure for obtaining a cylinder.
Strict Ban on Warehouse Sales
The government has declared that the direct sale of cylinders from warehouses is strictly prohibited and constitutes an entirely illegal act. Oil Marketing Companies have issued stringent directives to all distributors regarding this matter. Any individual found violating this rule will face strict punitive action.
Supply Normal, Deliveries Expedited
According to the government, the LPG supply situation in Delhi remains fully under control. The government has released data for April 4th, indicating that 114,679 bookings were registered on that day, while 131,335 cylinders were successfully delivered. The number of deliveries exceeded the number of bookings, clearly demonstrating that the backlog of pending demand is also being cleared rapidly. Currently, cylinders are being delivered to homes within an average timeframe of 4.24 days. Additionally, a control room has been activated to handle complaints; it can be reached at 011-23379836 or 8383824659.
Do Not Panic Over Cylinders: Rekha Gupta
The Chief Minister has urged the public not to panic or crowd the premises of gas agencies. She assured the public that all cylinders are being delivered to homes in a timely manner. The government has appealed to the people to refrain from spreading or believing rumors and to place their trust in the established distribution system.
