Maharashtra Rain: Maharashtra flooded; roads submerged, houses submerged, four people died amid heavy rain

Continuous rains continue to wreak havoc in many cities of Maharashtra. The situation has gone from bad to worse in Mumbai, Pune, Palghar, and many other places. Public transport services in the state capital have been affected a lot. Due to continuous rains, roads, railway tracks, and people's houses are flooded. In some places, the department has even needed boats to rescue people. People are facing problems due to heavy rains. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert. Schools and colleges have been closed in some places.

 

Air India shared the latest information on the social media platform X given the rain in Mumbai. It said, 'Flights to and from Mumbai may be affected due to heavy rains. Given slow traffic and waterlogging, it is advisable to leave a little early to reach the airports.'

 

Death due to electric shock

The mood of the deteriorating weather can be gauged from the fact that news of the death of four people has come to light here. Due to heavy rains, one person died due to a landslide in Adharwadi village of Pune rural. While another was also injured in the accident. At the same time, three people died due to electric shock in the early hours of Thursday. They were trying to remove their cart which was submerged due to heavy rains.

Police said that the incident took place in the Deccan Gymkhana area. All three deceased were selling eggs on a roadside cart near Baba Bhide Bridge. An officer of Deccan Gymkhana police station said that due to heavy rains, their cart was submerged in water. While removing it from the water, they got an electric shock. He said that after the incident, three people - Abhishek Ghanekar, Akash Mane, and Shiv Parihar were taken to the hospital, where they died during treatment.

 

Life disrupted

Pune has been receiving continuous rains since Wednesday night. Due to heavy rains, some parts of the city are waterlogged. The pictures clearly show how bad the situation is here. People's lives have been disrupted. After rainwater entered residential areas, the Pune Fire Department had to take the help of inflatable rubber boats to rescue people.

 

Andheri subway had to be closed.

 

Meanwhile, waterlogging has occurred in Andheri, Mumbai. The subway here has been closed for vehicular movement due to heavy rains.

 

The Collector's Office of Palghar informed us that IMD has issued an orange alert for today. Given this, it has been decided to close all schools and colleges in the district.
