A huge crowd of Kanwariyas has gathered at Haridwar Har Ki Pauri. Devotees of Bholenath took a bath in the Ganga and are leaving for their destination carrying water for Mahashivratri. The chants of Har Har Mahadev are echoing all around in Haridwar city.

They are reaching for Jalabhishek by decorating attractive Kanwar in different ways. Some have arrived in the form of Mahakaal. This time after 72 years on Mahashivratri, there is a coincidence of three yogas. Pradosh Vrat is also observed on the day of Mahashivratri. According to pundits, Shiva's blessings will be showered on those fasting on Mahashivratri. Chaturdashi date of Phalgun Krishna Paksha i.e. Mahashivratri is this time on 8th March.

Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga, Chaturgrahi Yoga, and Shiva Yoga are being formed on Mahashivratri. Acharya Sushant Raj said that the formation of these three yogas on the same day in Mahashivratri is a wonderful coincidence. This year Mahashivratri is considered to give very auspicious results.

Along with this, there is also the Shukra Pradosh fast on the day of Mahashivratri. By observing a fast on this day and worshiping Lord Shiva, you will attain all the happiness. In Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga, fasting and worshiping Lord Shiva leads to success in every task. This yoga will be more fruitful if it falls on Friday. Apart from this, there is a coincidence of Shiva Yoga on this day. Sadhana, mantra, and chanting in Shiva Yoga are auspicious.

Acharya said that to get the blessings of Lord Shiva, one should worship Jyotirlinga according to one's zodiac sign. Those devotees who for some reason cannot go and worship Jyotirlinga can worship by putting a picture of Jyotirlinga at home as per their zodiac sign.
