An agreement was reached between India and Maldives after the meeting last week.
After the meeting in New Delhi last week, Maldives issued a statement claiming that both sides have agreed that India will replace military personnel in one of the three aviation platforms by March 10 and the other by May 10.
Although there was no mention of the withdrawal of troops, the Indian side said, "During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on a wide range of issues related to bilateral cooperation towards identifying steps to enhance the partnership." The discussions continued. “Both sides also agreed to mutually workable solutions for the continued operation of Indian aviation platforms that provide humanitarian and medical services to the people of Maldives,” the Ministry of External Affairs said.
