A massive fire broke out in a pipe godown in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh on Thursday morning. After two hours of effort, 7-8 fire tenders brought the fire under control. This plastic pipe godown was in the Mohan Nagar area near the residential area and petrol pump. As a precaution, some houses around the warehouse were evacuated. The good news is that there is no news of any casualty.

Some houses in Mohan Nagar were also affected by the fire and smoke. The fire was so fierce that its flames and smoke could be seen up to 5 kilometers away in the city. This godown belonged to Pagaria Traders, in which PVC pipes and cables were kept for agricultural use.

DD Nagar police station in charge scorched in extinguishing the fire

The police administration and firefighters were engaged in extinguishing the fire for two hours so that the fire did not spread to the petrol pump near the warehouse and the residential area. DD Nagar police station in-charge Ashok Ninama suffered burns while extinguishing the fire and evacuating people from the area. After this, he was sent to the district hospital for first aid. Being a residential area, the fire brigade team had to make a lot of effort to douse the fire. According to officials, the fire has been completely brought under control.

SDM said - the warehouse is not allowed in a residential area

Ratlam SDM Abhishek Gehlot said that godown is not allowed near the residential area. Action will be taken after investigation. He told that the fire was started in a pile of garbage near the godown. From here the fire reached the warehouse. Goods of eight nearby houses were also damaged due to the fire.
