New Delhi, Feb 22 (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi Sunday congratulated Nitish Kumar, who was sworn-in as the chief minister of Bihar for the fourth time.
"Congratulations and best wishes to Nitish Kumar on being sworn-in as Bihar chief minister," Modi tweeted.
Nitish Kumar, who resigned in May 2014, owning responsibility for his Janata Dal-United's bad performance in the general elections, had chosen Jitan Ram Manjhi to succeed him. However, Manjhi recently refused to step down to make way for Nitish Kumar, leading to possibility of a split in the JD-U before suddenly resigning hours before he was due to prove his majority in the assembly.
