Had a telephone conversation with. News agency Reuters gave this information quoting the Kremlin. PM Modi and President Putin recently met on the sidelines of the SCO summit on September 16 in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. At that time PM Modi told Putin that this is not the era of war.

In Friday's conversation, the PMO said that in the context of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, PM Modi in his talks with Russian President Putin reiterated his call to take the matter beyond dialogue diplomacy. Following their meeting on the sidelines of the SCO summit in Samarkand, the two leaders reviewed several aspects of bilateral ties, including energy cooperation, trade and investment, defense and security cooperation, and other key areas.

This thing happened during Modi-Putin

The PMO said that PM Modi briefed President Putin about India's current chairmanship of the G-20 and highlighted its key priorities. He also hoped that the two countries would work together during India's chairmanship of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation. They agreed to be in regular contact with each other. There have been several telephonic conversations between the two leaders this year.

War continues in Russia-Ukraine

During the ongoing war with Ukraine, Russia has threatened nuclear attack several times. Recently, Vladimir Putin once again threatened a nuclear attack. Meanwhile, some reports said that the decision to cancel the Modi-Putin summit was taken after Putin's indirect threat of using nuclear weapons in the Ukraine war. However, Russia denied these reports. The Russian Foreign Ministry said reports about Prime Minister Narendra Modi's refusal to hold a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin is a "misunderstanding".

Both the leaders met in Samarkand

Earlier, on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Samarkand, PM Modi had told Vladimir Putin that this is not an era of war. I have been talking to you on the phone about this. Responding to PM Narendra Modi, Vladimir Putin said I know your position on the conflict in Ukraine, about your concerns that you constantly express. We will try our best to stop it as soon as possible.
