Mohsin stood on the stage for a long time, and the Indian team decided not to accept the trophy from him. Mohsin Naqvi then stepped off the stage and took the trophy and medals straight to his hotel.

The Indian team players then celebrated without the trophy and returned to their hotel. The BCCI later asked PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi to return the trophy immediately and threatened to file a complaint with the ICC if he did not.

The ACC's virtual meeting on September 30th saw heated exchanges between the BCCI and the PCB, during which Mohsin apologized to the BCCI, but he remains adamant. Naqvi, who is scheduled to leave for Lahore today, October 1st,

said that he would hand over the trophy to the Indian team captain, Suryakumar Yadav, if he personally came to the ACC office to collect it.

The BCCI responded by saying that they would not come and collect the trophy. "They didn't collect the trophy when you were there, so do you think they will collect it now?"
