In view of the ongoing alert on heavy rains and landslides by the Meteorological Department, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board has postponed the journey of Maa Vaishno Devi from October 5 to 7. Due to this, Maa Vaishno Devi Bhavan, Yatra Marg, Adkunwari temple complex, and Darshani Deodhi etc. are deserted on Sunday.
However, 3000 to 4000 devotees who have reached Katra from across the country are still staying in Katra, waiting for Vaishno Devi's journey to begin. On Saturday, the Shrine Board suddenly closed the registration centers at eight o'clock at night, while the registration centers are closed at 10 in night, but were closed 2 hours earlier.
Due to this, the devotees traveling at night were upset, and the entrance kept reaching Darshani Deodhi and continuously demanding to go towards the building, but the Shrine Board did not allow them to go towards the building. Finally, the devotees had to return to Katra.
The devotees who stayed in Katra hope that the Shrine Board will allow them to travel to Vaishno Devi. Late Saturday, the weather changed once again and clouded the sky, and light rain continued till 8 am on Sunday.
However, after that, the weather cleared, and most of the day was sunny and cold air continued. Devotees continued to appeal to the Shrine Board that the weather is clear, they should be allowed to go to the building.
