Morbi Bridge Collapse: Chinese President Xi Jinping mourns the tragedy in Gujarat

Chinese President Xi Jinping has sent a condolence message to President Draupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying he was shocked to learn about the deadly bridge collapse in Gujarat's Morbi city, in which 135 people were killed. In his message, President Xi said he was shocked to learn of the fatal collapse, the official Xinhua News Agency reported. "On behalf of the Chinese government and people, Xi expressed his deepest condolences on the deaths and expressed his deepest condolences to the bereaved families and the injured," it said.

 

Chinese PM also sent a condolence message to PM Modi

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang also sent a condolence message to Prime Minister Modi. Chinese State Counselor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi also sent a condolence message to his Indian counterpart S Jaishankar on the bridge collapse. Wang expressed his deepest condolences on the deaths and expressed his deepest condolences to the bereaved families and the injured. The bridge, more than a century old, was reopened five days ago after extensive repairs and renovations.

 

In the Morbi bridge accident, 135 people died and 170 people have been rescued. Several world leaders, including US President Joe Biden, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid, offered condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the bridge collapse on Monday.
