National Herald Case: After interrogation in the National Herald case, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi left the ED's office and reached his residence in Tughlaq Lane. At the same time, he has once again reached the ED's office for questioning. An official had told that Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has left the ED office for lunch, and he will come again for questioning. Earlier, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was questioned for about three hours. In this, questions were raised on many things including bank accounts.

On the other hand, in protest against the appearance of Rahul Gandhi, Congress workers took out a protest march on the road and demonstrated. After this, many big leaders and workers including Congress party spokesperson Randeep Surjewala were detained. Randeep Surjewala said that there was no scam in the National Herald. National Herald Company has cleared the dues of Young India Company and paid the salaries of the employees. We have not sold the government properties of India like the BJP government. Let us tell you that, given the appearance of Rahul Gandhi, the Congress had decided to conduct satyagraha outside the ED offices across the country.

Rahul and Sonia Gandhi have been summoned

The ED had called Rahul Gandhi for questioning in the alleged money laundering case related to the National Herald. The probe agency had earlier asked Rahul Gandhi to appear on June 2. But he had requested for some other date to appear that he was out of the country. The agency summoned Congress President Sonia Gandhi in the same matter on 23 June. Earlier, he was given the notice to appear on June 8. But the Congress President had sought more time to appear because she is infected with Corona and has not recovered yet.

All senior leaders arrived with Rahul Gandhi

Before Rahul Gandhi's appearance, officials said that Rahul Gandhi reached the ED's headquarters at APJ Abdul Kalam Road at around 11.10 am and is likely to give his statement in writing. On this occasion, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, party General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, and many senior Congress leaders and workers reached out in large numbers and expressed their support for Rahul Gandhi. When Rahul Gandhi's convoy reached the ED headquarters, Priyanka Gandhi was also sitting next to him in the car. According to officials, the questioning of senior Congress leaders and the Gandhi family is part of the ED's probe to understand the stake pattern, financial transactions, and role of promoters of Young Indian and Associated Journals Limited (AJL).

Congress called the allegations baseless

Congress says that the allegations leveled against its top leaders are baseless and the ED's action is being taken under the politics of vendetta. Party's chief spokesperson Surjewala said that Congress is a political party and a political party cannot buy a stake in any company. Therefore, a not-for-profit company (a not-for-profit company) by the name of 'Young Indian' was given shares of 'National Herald' and Associated Journals Ltd. to clear the debt of Rs 90 crore.

Surjewala said that out of this Rs 90 crore, Rs 67 crore was given for the salary and VRS of the employees and the rest was paid for the dues of the government, electricity bills, and building. How can this be a crime? This is a sense of duty. According to Surjewala, the assets of Associated Journals Limited (AJL), owned by the National Herald, are intact even today.
