He was the state election officer and state membership chief. Was the President of the 2013 Uttarakhand Divine Disaster Management Advisory Committee, was elected MLA from the Chaubatakhal Legislative Assembly in the year 2012, and became the Uttarakhand BJP State President in the year 2013. Tirath Singh Rawat was nominated from the Pauri seat as BJP candidate for the 17th Lok Sabha election in India, in which he won by a huge vote. He defeated his nearest rival Manish Khanduri of Congress by over 2,85,003 votes.
