The political crisis in Nepal is not taking its name. Once again, the opposition coalition in Nepal will stake a claim to form a new government. On Friday, it has been said in a media report. Earlier, Nepal's opposition parties had called Prime Minister K.P. A meeting was held on Friday to remove Sharma Oli from the post and to decide further strategies to resolve the current political crisis. Oli has expressed reluctance to undergo a power test one more time to prove his government's majority in Parliament.
A day earlier, Nepal's President Vidya Devi Bhandari had asked the political parties of the country to stake claim to form a new government. On the recommendation of Prime Minister Oli, the President has set a deadline till 5 pm on Friday for political parties to form a new government. According to the press release issued by the President's office on Thursday, the government has decided to clear the way to form a new government. Prime Minister Oli feels that the situation is no different from the situation on May 10, when the 69-year-old leader lost the confidence vote in the House of Representatives.
Oli has to prove his majority within 30 days to remain Prime Minister. The meeting of the opposition alliance is going on at the residence of Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba. Top leaders of the Nepalese Congress (NC), the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Center), and the Upendra Yadav-led factions of the Janata Samajwadi Party are participating in the meeting.
Madhav Kumar Nepal, a senior leader of the ruling CPN-UML, also reached Deuba's house to attend the meeting. According to MyRepublica.com, a senior NC leader said that they are considering all options to remove Prime Minister Oli as he has been involved in violating constitutional rules. The senior leader said, "President Bhandari is also supporting all unconstitutional steps of Prime Minister Oli." He said that there is a thought about whether a motion for impeachment should be filed against the President.
