By July 31, 5.50 lakh corona patients will be in Delhi, 80 thousand beds will be needed
The conflict between the Lt. Governor and the Delhi Government is increasing as Delhi's government and private hospitals are opened to all patients. In a meeting of Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) on Tuesday, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia raised this issue in front of the Lieutenant Governor.
The Delhi government says that the Lieutenant Governor, who reversed the decision of the Delhi Cabinet, has neither a plan nor any authentic data about the hospitals if the number of patients increases.
After the DDMA meeting, Manish Sisodia said that with the speed with which Corona infection is increasing in Delhi, it seems that by June 30, one lakh will be infected and 15,000 beds will be needed. While by July 15, the number of patients will be 2.25 lakhs and the need of beds will be 33 thousand. By July 31, this figure is expected to increase to 5.50 lakhs. In this situation, 80 thousand beds will be required for the patients.
Sisodia said that in the meeting, when asked LG about the treatment of outsiders in Delhi, he said that he has no idea how many people will reach Delhi from outside due to allowing treatment from people of other states.
On the other hand, Health Minister Satendra Jain said that in private hospitals in Delhi, 50 percent people come for treatment from outside and in large government hospitals this figure is close to 70 percent. Till 31 July, 80 thousand beds are needed for Delhiites only. When the Lieutenant Governor was asked about this, he said that he has not made any plan for it yet.
Confrontation case between Lt. Governor and Delhi Government
At a meeting of the Delhi cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, it was decided on Sunday that there would be no treatment of external patients in Delhi's government and private hospitals. Only people of Delhi will be treated in Delhi hospitals. The order of Kejriwal government was overturned by Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal on Monday. The Delhi government and the Aam Aadmi Party have strongly objected to this decision of the Lieutenant Governor.
