Film organizations in India have demanded a ban on this film in the country given the increased tension between India and Pakistan after the Pahalgam terrorist attack.
Singer clarified this matter

Will the film not be released in India?

In the interview, he further said that many things happened out of his control and now, the situation is not in his hands. Breaking his silence on the controversy, he said, "When this film was made, the situation was fine. We shot it in February and everything was fine then.
After that, many big things are not in our hands. So the producers decided that the film would be made, obviously, now it will not be released in India, so let's release it abroad. The producers have invested a lot of money in it and when this film was being made, there was nothing like this." I support it - Diljit
Expressing his support to the makers of 'Sardarji 3', he said, "They know that it will cause losses because you are removing an entire region. Everything was fine even when I signed the film. Now, the situation is not in our hands. So, if the producers want to release it abroad, I support them."
