The hearing is still going on in the Rajasthan High Court on the petition of Sachin Pilot camp against the notice of the speaker. Pilot camp counsel Mukul Rohatgi said in the court that the assembly speaker had given the MLAs 3 days to respond. Why were they in such a hurry? The defection law was enacted so that no party could change.

 

Rohatgi also talked about several issues, questioning the notice. He also said that the powers of the High Court cannot be curbed. The court has the right to hear the case. Every case should be treated with different arguments.

Singhvi said on Monday- Speaker did not disqualify MLAs

 

During the hearing on Monday in the court, Abhishek Manu Singhvi made the arguments on behalf of the speaker CP Joshi. Singhvi said that the speaker has sent a bus notice to the MLAs. Not disqualified. He said that the petition of the pilot camp is pre-mature, it should be rejected.

 

Harish Salve argued on behalf of the pilot faction. Salve said that toppling the government is a different matter and making the chief minister is another matter. Earlier on Friday, he also said that no activity outside the Legislative Assembly could be considered a violation of the Anti-defection Act. The session is also not running, so the whip has no meaning.

 

This is how developments have happened so far

 

At around 12 noon on Thursday afternoon, 19 MLAs including Sachin Pilot filed a petition in the Rajasthan High Court against the notice of the Assembly. The hearing took place earlier this day at 3 o'clock. The hearing was deferred within 15 minutes due to a lack of a copy of the amendment, then the matter was transferred to the division bench at 5 pm. At 8 pm, the matter was deferred till Friday.

The hearing, which started at 1 pm on Friday, lasted till around 4.30 pm. After this, the court postponed the hearing till 20 July and said that the Assembly speaker should not take any action on the notice till 5 pm on Tuesday.

In the resumed hearing on Monday, both sides made their arguments. The court deferred the hearing for the next day.

Instructions to the speaker not to take action till 21 July

 

On the complaint of Chief Whip Mahesh Joshi, Assembly Speaker CP Joshi had issued a notice on July 14 to 19 MLAs including Pilot asking why you should not be disqualified from the Legislative Assembly. In the hearing last week, the High Court ordered that the speaker not take action till July 21 on the notice given to the MLAs. The assembly speaker then gave the MLAs of the Pilot faction until 5.30 pm on July 21 to respond to the notice.

 

Special assembly session possible on Wednesday

 

In this, the Gehlot government can prove the majority by trust vote. However, no official information has been given about this. On Saturday, Gehlot also met the Governor. According to the rules, if the Gehlot government succeeds in proving the majority, then the opposition cannot bring a no-confidence motion for 6 months.

 

These legislators were given notice

 

Sachin Pilot, Ramesh Meena, Indraj Gurjar, Gajraj Khatana, Rakesh Pareek, Murari Meena, PR Meena, Suresh Modi, Bhanwar Lal Sharma, Vedprakash Solanki, Mukesh Bhakar, Ramnivas Gavadia, Harish Meena, Brijendra Ola, Hemaram Chaudhary, Vishvendra Singh, Amar Singh, Dipendra Singh and Gajendra Shaktawat.

 

One day lobbying for 1.75 crore in the High Court

 

In the disqualification notice case was given to 19 MLAs including Sachin Pilot, the veteran of the country is appearing in the High Court on behalf of the MLA and Speaker of the Senior Advocate Pilot Group. According to experts, the fees of lobbying done on Friday will be in crores. Senior advocates like Harish Salve, Mukul Rohatgi, and Abhishek Singhvi charge a fee of Rs 40 to 50 lakhs for one day's advocacy. The state's AG MS Singhvi also charges 11 to 15 lakhs in special cases. In this case, if we talk about the total fees of lawyers advocating on behalf of Sachin Pilot faction and the speaker, then it is about 1.75 crores.

 

Abhishek Manu Singhvi: Senior Advocate and Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi is appearing for the assembly speaker. Singhvi had advocated on behalf of Mukesh Ambani in a dispute between the Ambani brothers. He has also been in discussion for lobbying Vodafone's tax-related matters. Singhvi charges up to 50 lakh rupees for advocating for one day in a case.

 

Harish Salve: In this case, Senior Advocate Harish Salve is appearing for London on behalf of Sachin Pilot Group. Salve has been a former Solicitor General of the country and he had submitted a favor in the International Court of Justice in the Kulbhushan Jadhav case in Pakistan jail. According to law experts, Salve takes up to 50 lakh rupees for one day's advocacy in the High Court and the Supreme Court. Salve Khan was the advocate who saved actor Salman Khan in the hit and run case.
