
New Delhi, March 28 (IANS) President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday greeted the nation on the occasion of Ram Navami, the Hindu festival that marks the birth of Lord Ram.
"Greetings and good wishes to all fellow citizens on the joyous occasion of Ram Navami," the president said.
"May the example of Rama as Maryada Purushottam inspire us to achieve nobility in thought, word and deed," he tweeted.
In a series of tweets, the president said: "May the venerable Lord instill in our people just and righteous conduct in the face of trials and tribulations."
Modi also took to Twitter to wish the people.
"Greetings to the people on the occasion of Ram Navami," he said.
The title match of the Champions Trophy will be played between India and New Zealand on March 9.
