Indian Language Day will be celebrated on December 11 in schools and colleges to mark the birth anniversary of the great poet Subrahmanya Bharati, popularly known as the bridge of north-south. Its purpose is to encourage students to learn Indian languages and learn other Indian languages, under the recommendations of the National Education Policy 2020. National unity will be strengthened through Indian languages.

 

In this drama, language games, music, art exhibition, speech, singing, and writing competition, and food corners of different states will also be organized. The programs will also include parents, language associations, language clubs, and cultural, art, and literary institutions. UGC Chairman Prof. M Jagadesh Kumar told that under the recommendation of NEP, students in grades 6-8 in Ek Bharat-Shreshtha Bharat have to be introduced to the languages ​​of India.

 

Students will also get a chance to know the history, culture, food, etc. of those states through the languages ​​of India. Tamil litterateur Subrahmanya Bharathi was considered to be the bridge between North and South. His patriotism was a burning song to awaken nationalism. He was educated in Tamil Nadu and Varanasi. That is why it has been decided to celebrate his birth anniversary as Indian Language Festival Day.

 

Emphasis on teaching Indian languages ​​with new technology

Speech, singing, writing competition, drama, art exhibition, music, and linguistic games will be organized under Indian Language Day. For food corners of different states, an exhibition based on the clothes of different states will be organized. An exhibition of Indian languages ​​will be held depicting India's linguistic diversity, prosperity, and future India, Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.

 

Language associations, language clubs, and institutions will be involved

Higher educational institutions and parents of school students can also be involved in this program. Various language associations, language clubs, cultural arts, and literary institutions can also be a part of it. Neighboring towns, districts, and institutions may also be invited to incorporate the linguistic experience into the festival.
