Engineering: Engineering students will study in 12 Indian languages, and a team of 291 people prepared books

In the upcoming academic session 2022-23, BTech second-year students of engineering colleges in 18 states will be able to study in 12 Indian languages, including Hindi, apart from English. All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has prepared books in Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Gujarati, Kannada, Punjabi, Oriya, Assamese, Urdu, and Malayalam for B.Tech second-year students. A team of 291 writers, translators, validators, and language experts worked on a translation in Indian languages. According to a senior AICTE official, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had decided to provide education in Indian languages ​​to engineering students in the National Policy on Education.

 

Under this, students in the first year of engineering got the opportunity to study eight Indian languages ​​last year. 1500 teachers will also be trained to teach second-year engineering students in 12 Indian languages. At present, seven subjects are being taught in Indian languages ​​in 19 institutes of different states in the first year of B.Tech. More than 255 students have taken admitted to this. AICTE plans to introduce BTech in Indian languages ​​in 500 colleges. For this, the work of translating of B.Tech third-year books into 15 Indian languages ​​is going on. Preparations are being made to add 30 thousand students from 500 technical colleges to it.
