
Repolling is currently underway at 15 polling stations across two constituencies in West Bengal, with people turning out in large numbers to cast their votes. Several complaints regarding alleged vote rigging were received during the second phase of the state assembly elections held on April 29.
Repolling at 15 Booths
Repolling is taking place at 15 booths across the Diamond Harbour and Magrahat West constituencies in West Bengal. In its order, the Election Commission stated that fresh voting would be conducted at 11 polling stations in Magrahat West and 4 polling stations in Diamond Harbour.
The Commission has also issued directives for extensive public awareness campaigns within the affected polling areas and has mandated that contesting candidates be formally notified in writing regarding the fresh polling scheduled for today.
Officials stated that voting at all 15 polling stations commenced at 7:00 AM and is scheduled to conclude at 6:00 PM.
By 11:00 AM, the average voter turnout across both seats stood at 36.99 percent.
By 9:00 AM, voter turnout at the booths in Magrahat West was recorded at 16.68 percent.
