For the first time, a contingent of women soldiers of Delhi Police, women officers of the Army, and women personnel associated with medical services were seen parading.
Similarly, for the first time in a cultural program, 1,500 women folk dance artists made people applaud with their dance. Women soldiers of BSF, CISF, and other paramilitary forces showed amazing feats.
Women's contingent equipped with musical instruments will lead the parade
This time the parade will not be led by a contingent from the Defense Ministry but by a contingent of a hundred women equipped with ancient musical instruments like conch, drums, and damru.
Right behind this will be a troupe of more than 15 hundred dancers from different parts of the country. Which will introduce everyone to the diversity of the country.
Republic Day preparations tested in full dress rehearsal
Very special security arrangements have been made for the upcoming Republic Day celebrations. This time utmost care is being taken. On Tuesday, amidst tight security, preparations for Republic Day were tested by holding a full dress rehearsal from the dusty path to the Red Fort.
The police officer says that Delhi Police has been busy in security preparations with all the central agencies and paramilitary forces including Defense and Home Ministry for more than a month.
Due to the rehearsal, policemen were deployed on the parade route and the movement routes of dummy VIPs in New Delhi, Central and Northern districts. Many routes were diverted and closed to the general public. Rehearsal was also done with the carcade of a dummy Prime Minister President and other VIPs.
The parade started on the dusty path at around nine in the morning. Delhi Police, Paramilitary Forces, Army, Navy, NCC, Coast Guard, and Air Force paraded from the dusty path to the Red Fort. The rehearsal continued till 1 o'clock in the afternoon. During this, tableaus of the states were brought out and the Army, Border Security Force, and Air Force showed amazing feats. Air Force planes performed acrobatics in the sky.
