On Thursday, the important border with Afghanistan, which was closed by Pakistan, was closed again after opening it for a few hours. The officials had informed about this. Afghanistan's Taliban rulers closed the crossing on Sunday. He claimed that Islamabad was not abiding by the agreement made with Kabul.

There was an agreement between them that Afghan patients and their caregivers can come to Pakistan without any travel documents.

Many trucks got permission to cross the border

On Monday, a shootout broke out between Afghan Taliban forces and Pakistani border guards, injuring a Pakistani soldier. On Wednesday, Pakistan's Defense Minister, Khawaja Mohammad Asif, and Secret Service Chief, Lt. Gen. Anjum Nadeem traveled to Kabul and met senior Taliban officials to discuss the border issue.

Limit opened to reduce the backlog

On Thursday morning, Torkham was reopened by Afghan Taliban forces, allowing some of the thousands of trucks that had been parked at the border for days to pass. These trucks carrying vegetables, fruits, and other perishable food items were allowed to cross the border to reduce the backlog.

Tweet Shared Information

The Afghan Embassy of Pakistan shared the information about the reopening of the border through a tweet and the truck drivers of Pakistan are very happy as now their trucks were moving towards Khyber Pass. However, the crossing was closed after a few hours.

Ziaul Haq Sarhadi, director of the Pakistan-Afghanistan Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said Pakistan was unable to cross the border due to administrative issues. "The Pakistani side has closed the Torkham Gate after the Islamic Emirate authorities opened the border today," the media center of Afghanistan's Nangarhar province said on Twitter.

Torkham border is an important crossing

For Pakistan, the Torkham border crossing is an important commercial artery and a trade route to Central Asian countries. Meanwhile, Islamabad has also accused the Afghan Taliban of harboring Pakistani terrorists, whose cross-border attacks have led to an increase in violence in Pakistan.

There was a talk between the two countries regarding terrorism

Pakistan's foreign ministry said its delegation in Kabul also raised the growing threat of terrorism in the region during Wednesday's talks, particularly by the Pakistani Taliban, known as the Tehrik-e Taliban-Pakistan or TTP, and the Islamic State group. There was a conversation about the identified group. The Pakistani delegation has asked the Taliban to prevent Pakistani Taliban terrorists from attacking Pakistan from inside Afghanistan.

Planning to attack Pakistan

Officials said the demand is urgent as the Pakistani Taliban is reportedly planning to launch an attack in March. Pakistan recently warned that if the Taliban administration fails to rein in the militants, it reserves the right to target TTP sanctuaries in Afghanistan, raising the possibility of cross-border violence.
