Russia-Ukraine War: European Union again imposed new sanctions on Russia, blacklisted 200 people

The ongoing Russia-Ukraine war is not taking the name of ending. Meanwhile, the European Union (EU) announced new sanctions on Thursday in a bid to step up pressure on Russia over the war in Ukraine. Along with this, the EU also announced to give aid to Ukraine. The EU approved the ban after several days of consultations with ambassadors from 27 countries.

 

200 people in Russia blacklisted

Nearly 200 more Russians have been blacklisted as part of new sanctions imposed by the EU, and it has also decided to freeze investment in Russia's mining industry. Along with this, it has been approved to impose a price cap on Russian oil as well.

 

Announcement of the huge aid package to Ukraine

Along with imposing sanctions on Russia, the European Union also announced a large amount of aid to Ukraine. According to the announcement, more than 1 lakh 58 thousand crores (18 billion Euro) will be given to Ukraine. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky asked 27 EU leaders gathered in Brussels to help provide greater access to energy equipment and strengthen air defenses during this period.

 

Russia will increase tests of ballistic missiles

Amid sanctions imposed by the European Union on Russia, Russian commander Sergei Karakayev said that in 2023, Russia is going to double the testing of its intercontinental ballistic missiles. The Russian commander reported that eight test flights would soon be scheduled from the two launch sites. One near Murmansk in the north, the other near Volgograd in the south. Let us tell you that the war in Russia-Ukraine has been going on for more than 7 months. Russia has also occupied many parts of Ukraine. Although many countries including the EU are helping Ukraine.
