Russia-Ukraine war: The war between two countries puts an impact on the world, with many effects seen globally in the last year

The war between Russia and Ukraine has completed one year. Ukraine was attacked by Russia on 24 February 2022. In the last year, this war has influenced the world in many ways. Changed global conditions due to war ...

Arms race increased

A few months before the Russian attack on Ukraine, the then Prime Minister of Britain Boris Johnson was enraged at the suggestion that the British Army needed more heavy weapons. He said that the days of fighting a war with big tanks have passed. Now the same Johnson is talking about sending more war tanks to Ukraine so that he can push the Russian army back.

Before the war, most analysts believed that Russia equipped with more advanced technology and cyber weapons would move easily, but the 21st-century war strategy looks light in front of the 20th-century weapons. The arms race in the world has increased.

NATO came out strong

Russian President Vladimir Putin hoped that the attack on Ukraine would be western and weaken NATO. However, the results so far are showing the opposite results. The alliance of Western countries is shown to be stronger. Western countries emerged as a group to prevent the Soviet Union from forming again.

At the same time, the European Union with 27 countries has imposed strict sanctions on Russia. Also sent help of billions of dollars to Ukraine. NATO member countries have sent fierce weapons to Ukraine. However, some experts are still assuming that if the war continues to pull in this way, western unity may have a rift.

New walls are being built in Russia and the West

This war created a new wall between the West and Russia. The companies there are getting blacklists. Many international brands have covered their business from there. China has kept an associated attitude towards Russia, but that too is running a balanced distance. Russia has also started strengthening military relations with North Korea and Iran. Overall, the world is slowly starting to divide into two camps. Undoubtedly, it will get to see many effects on the whole world.

Changes like economies

This war has also made a major impact on the economic front. Before the war, the European Union countries were importing half of natural gas and one-third of petroleum from Russia. The war has completely changed the situation. Western countries are exploring new options for their energy needs. This is estimated to speed up the use of renewable energy sources.

The war has also increased the price of food grains worldwide. Russia has been a major exporter of wheat and sunflower oil. Also, fertilizer is a leader in production. Russia is blaming the West for this food crisis. On this front, the whole world is facing a crisis.

A new round of uncertainty

This war has started a new phase of uncertainty globally. No one can understand this better than the 80 million Ukrainian citizens who have been directly affected by the war. Apart from these, millions of people have been indirectly affected. Putin has also threatened nuclear war several times. The whole world is in a state of the cold war.

Explain that if there is a nuclear attack, the situation can be more frightening than imagination. Many countries of the third world are just expecting this war ends soon. Expensive food grains are causing starvation in many poor countries. There is a situation of uncertainty everywhere.
