Vigilance picked up Sadhu Singh Dharamsot from his house in Amloh at three o'clock on Tuesday morning. Dharamsot is accused of taking bribes in exchange for felling trees. On behalf of the Vigilance Bureau, former minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot and his associates will be produced in the court of Mohali. Dharamsot was the Forest Minister when Captain Amarinder Singh was the CM.

It is worth mentioning that today itself Rahul Gandhi is coming to Punjab. He will meet the family of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala after the murder. It is being told that the Vigilance Bureau had caught some forest officers of Mohali on charges of bribery. He told during interrogation that Dharamsot used to take a bribe of Rs 500 for cutting a tree. Apart from this, bribes were also taken for planting new trees. The part of which also went directly to the then minister Dharamsot.

Sadhu Singh Dharamsot has also been involved in the Post Matric Scholarship scam. During his tenure as Social Security Minister, allegations were made that scholarship money was wrongly given to private colleges and universities. There was a lot of uproar about this. Despite this, the then Captain Government had given a clean chit to Dharamsot.
