New Delhi, March 24 (IANS) Congress leader Kapil Sibal Monday lashed out at BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and said the party's slogan of "Modi ki sarkar" was unconstitutional as India cannot be run by an individual.
Law Minister Sibal also took a dig at the Bharatiya Janata Party over denial of Lok Sabha ticket to former union minister Jaswant Singh.
He criticised the BJP over its slogan "Ab ki bar, Modi sarkar (This time it will be Modi's government)".
"Is Modi linked to himself or the BJP? What is the meaning of "Modi ki sarkar"? Is the government of an individual," Sibal said at a press conference here.
Sibal, who is seeking re-election to the Lok Sabha as the Congress candidate from Chandni Chowk constituency in Delhi, said he was raising questions as a citizen of India.
"Will an individual run this country, a democracy of 120 crore people? Will there be a government of an individual? In its own way, it is unconstitutional," he said.
Attacking Modi, Sibal said the Gujarat chief minister has no experience of working at the centre, and added that the BJP had been hijacked by Modi.
"Voters will have to think what is happening," Sibal said.
On the denial of a ticket to Jaswant Singh from Barmer in Rajasthan, Sibal said people who had served the party for over three decades were not being given importance in the BJP.
Sibal said there were reports in a section of the media about the prospect of the exchange rate of rupee against the dollar improving dramatically if there is a government headed by Modi.
"An atmosphere (is being created) that Modi is remedy to every patient... an artificial thing is being presented before people," he said.
Meanwhile, some Congress workers in Chandni Chowk who had left the party to join the Aam Aadmi Party, Monday returned to the Congress in the presence of Sibal.
