Aiden Markram had decided to bowl first taking advantage of the home ground. Punjab was defeated by 8 wickets based on the excellent bowling of the bowlers and later the excellent batting of Rahul Tripathi.

Elated with the win, skipper Aiden Markram said, "We have a huge fan base and it felt great to see the ground today. We didn't start that well but getting the win is heartening. We didn't panic as it was just the early stages of the tournament. We believe in giving players the freedom to play their game with freedom."

Praise for Rahul Tripathi and Markandeya

Aiden further added, "Having Markandeya in place of Rashid proved to be the right thing to do. I am very happy for Markandeya. He bowled well tonight. Rahul Tripathi showed his class. Batting with Rahul at the other end It's been exciting. To be a part of a great franchise and this is our first win of the season, it means a lot."

Please tell me that against Punjab, Markandeya took 4 wickets in 4 overs. After this, Rahul Tripathi made the team win by scoring an unbeaten half-century. Markram also played an unbeaten inning of 37 runs. Hyderabad won the first win after two consecutive defeats.
