Economic Crisis in Sri Lanka: Sri Lanka, which is facing an economic crisis, has increased the prices of petrol by 24.3 percent and diesel by 38.4 percent on Tuesday. With this, the most commonly used Octane 92 petrol will cost Rs 420 ($1.17) per liter and diesel will cost Rs 400 ($1.11) per liter, the highest ever.
Lanka IOC, a Sri Lankan subsidiary of India's leading oil company Indian Oil Corporation, has also increased the retail prices of fuel. LIOC CEO Manoj Gupta said that we have increased the prices to match the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC). CPC is a public sector oil company in Sri Lanka.
Auto fare for one kilometer is Rs 90
