Strict comment of Gujarat High Court: Judge said - Corona patients are not getting beds, there is no medicine; They feel that everything is on god

The Gujarat High Court strongly reprimanded the state government over the worsening situation in the state from Corona. Hearing public interest litigation, the court said on Monday that the problems faced by the state and the people are very different from the government's claim. A bench of Chief Justice Vikram Nath and Justice Bhargava Karia said that people have started feeling that they are now trusting God.

Advocate General Kamal Trivedi informed the court about the steps taken by the government. He informed about increasing the number of beds in the hospital and the availability of anti-viral drug remdesivir. However, the bench refused to accept most of the arguments.

In the video conferencing hearing, the court said that the situation is quite different from what you are claiming. You are saying that everything is fine. But in reality, this is not so. There is a lack of trust in people at this time. People are cursing the government and the government is cursing the people. Nothing will happen with this. We need to break the transition chain.

Government bid on shortage of medicine - they also stand in line, who are not needed

The court said that some media reports had claimed that there is a shortage of remdesivir injection and a long line was installed outside a hospital for this. To this, Advocate General Trivedi said that those who do not need the medicine were also trying to buy it as a precaution. If the patient is in-home treatment, does not have symptoms or his condition is not serious, then he does not need remdesivir.

The government is buying 25 thousand remdesivir injections every day

Trivedi said the supply from companies is also low. Only 7 companies make this injection. Their one-day production capacity is just 1.75 lakh. The government is buying about 25 thousand injections every day. On this, the High Court asked why the government was controlling its supply when people were running for it. The hospitals where these injections were taking place were also saying that they did not have medicines.

The court said - we do not want the result, we want the result

The court said that the medicine is available, but its supply is being controlled by the government. Why can't people buy it? The government should ensure that it is available everywhere. We do not want a result because of it.

Test report being received in 5-7 days

On the issue of testing of the corona, the court said that the lab is taking several days to report the RT-PCR test. Earlier, reports would come in 8, 10, or 12 hours. Now it takes about 5 days. This is all for the common man. For someone like you or Advocate Devnani (a party in the case) or us, we may jump the line. But today it takes 5 to 7 days for the common man to take the test report. This is happening because you do not have the infrastructure. You did not increase the facilities.

Trivedi said that there is a delay in getting the report because at this time a large number of samples are reaching the lab simultaneously. The court also did not accept the claim that sufficient beds were available for Corona patients.

'People want to be treated in certain hospitals'

Justice Nath said that I have information that even after being bedded in the hospital, patients are not being admitted. If there are beds then why are we seeing 40 ambulances with the patients waiting outside the hospital? On this, Trivedi said that all the hospitals are getting the same treatment. Despite this, patients want to be admitted to some special hospitals. This is the reason why some hospitals are crowded outside.

Seeks detailed report from government, next hearing on April 15

Advocate General Trivedi feared the lockdown would be imposed, adding that it would add to the problems of the poor and migrant workers. The court has sought a detailed report from the state government till Wednesday. The next hearing of the case will be on April 15.

The court gave suggestions to the government

The High Court also made some suggestions to the government. This includes reducing the number of guests at weddings from 100 to 50, limiting the number of people at funerals, prohibiting the gathering of people anywhere, fixing staff limits in offices, and nominating one person in every society. This person will coordinate with the authorities.

Most patients found in Gujarat on Sunday

More than 5000 new cases are being received in Gujarat in the last two days. According to the Health Department, 5,469 new cases of the corona were found in Gujarat on Sunday. This is the largest number of patients found in a single day since the onset of the epidemic. Now there are 3.47 cases in the state. 4,800 people have died.
