T20 World Cup: 'It is difficult to find a player like Warner', this former captain praised the Australian batsman

Australia's legendary opener David Warner's international cricket career is now over. With Afghanistan's victory against Bangladesh, Warner's 15-year international career also came to an end. Due to Afghanistan's victory, Australia could not make it to the semi-finals. At the same time, former Australian captain Ricky Ponting praised opener David Warner, who retired after the T20 World Cup, on Tuesday that it would be very difficult to find a player like him who can make an impact in all three formats.

Warner is a legendary T20 batsman

Warner has been identified as an aggressive batsman. He has scored 3277 runs in 110 T20 matches for Australia, which includes one century and 28 half-centuries. Warner scored a century in T20 against Pakistan in 2019 and became the third Australian player to score a century in all three formats. Apart from international cricket, Warner plays in T20 leagues around the world, including the IPL. In 2021, he became the fourth batsman to score 10000 runs in T20.

'Warner should be proud of himself'

Warner also played under Ponting's captaincy. Later when Ponting became the head coach of Delhi Capitals, Warner was also a part of this team. Ponting said in an ICC program, I put my hand on his shoulder and said sit down for a while tonight and reflect on your incredible career in all three formats for Australia. We knew that he had retired from Test cricket, but it is difficult for you to find a player who has left his mark in all three formats like David Warner in Australian cricket. I have played with him and have also been his coach in the IPL for the last two years. I enjoyed being with him. He should be proud of himself for what he has done.
