On August 15 last year, the terrorist organization Taliban, which seized power in Afghanistan, made a business deal with another country for the first time. The Taliban regime has signed an agreement with Russia to buy oil, LPG, and wheat at a discount rate. The Taliban's Commerce and Industry Minister Haji Nooruddin has confirmed the deal.
The special thing in this matter is that so far no country, including Russia, has recognized the Taliban rule. India has sent 50 thousand tonnes of wheat and medicines to Afghanistan based on humanity.
Russia had offered
According to the report of 'Bloomberg', Russia had offered to supply oil and especially diesel to Afghanistan at a low price. Later, the matter progressed and in addition to liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), wheat was also included in the deal. Now it has to be seen how the Taliban pays because they are out of the international banking system and America has frozen all their assets.
Nooruddin said at the time of announcing the deal – We want to increase the number of our trading partners. Russia offered us cheap oil, gas, and wheat. So this deal is done.
The resentment of western countries will increase
Russia has already made the eyes of the US and the West on its attack on Ukraine. Now his displeasure over his deal with the Taliban is bound to increase.
Western countries demand that the situation of Taliban human rights should be improved rapidly. Also, first of all, women should be given equal rights in every field including education. Only then can the idea of recognizing the Taliban rule be considered. At present, there are embassies of some countries in Kabul, but they do not have high-level diplomats.
Afghanistan's economy is in shambles
On 15 August 2021, the Taliban seized power in Afghanistan with the capture of Kabul. After this, America had frozen its assets of about $ 9 billion. Europe and other countries refused to recognize it. Pakistan has appealed to the world for help many times for Afghanistan but to no avail.
When there was a threat of starvation in Afghanistan, India sent 50 thousand tons of wheat and many trucks of medicines there. If Pakistan did not give way, it was sent to Afghanistan via Iran. According to Afghanistan's trade and commerce minister Nooruddin, a deal has been signed to buy 5 lakh tonnes of LPG and two lakh tonnes of wheat from Russia. For this, a team of Taliban leaders stayed in Moscow for two weeks.
Taliban earns Rs 3 thousand crores every year
The Taliban do not publish any details of their accounts. It is difficult to trace his earnings and assets accurately. In 2016, Forbes magazine estimated the Taliban's annual turnover at Rs 2,968 crore. It is believed that most of the money comes from drugs. Apart from this, the Taliban also earn money through illegal weapons.
