Team India created history: India won by 119 runs in the third ODI, clean sweep the West Indies at their home for the first time in 39 years

Team India defeated West Indies by 119 runs in the third ODI to clean sweep the series 3-0. The Indian team has been playing the ODI series in West Indies for 39 years and for the first time, they have got success in cleaning the Caribbean team at their home.

 

In the third ODI, India won the toss and decided to bat first. India scored 225 runs in 36 overs for the loss of 3 wickets. Shubman Gill was unbeaten on 98. Captain Shikhar Dhawan scored 58 and Shreyas Iyer scored 44 runs. Then it started raining heavily and the Indian innings ended there.

 

West Indies got off to a bad start

 

West Indies got off to a bad start. Mohammad Siraj took the wickets of Kyle Meyers and Shemar Brooks in the same over. After the dismissal of both, Shai Hope held the innings for some time, but he was dismissed after scoring 22 runs in 33 balls. His wicket was taken by Yuzvendra Chahal. At one point it seemed that Brandon King could prove to be a threat to Team India. He was playing 42 runs in 37 balls, but he was clean bowled by Axar Patel and gave the fourth blow to West Indies. After this, no Caribbean batsman could stand before the Indian attack.

 

Dhawan scored the 37th fifty of his career

 

Captain Dhawan was dismissed for the 37th fifty of his ODI career. 58 runs came off his bat. Shubman Gill and Shikhar Dhawan shared 113 runs in 138 balls for the first wicket. Both did not let the West Indies bowlers dominate from the beginning. In this partnership, Dhawan contributed 58 and Shubman contributed 51 runs.
